Winchester

So the story of Winchester.....Well, basically he's our child since at the moment we have no children.  We got him when he was 8 weeks old which was about 2 months after we got married.  He is the sweetest, smartest, most obedient, loving and loyal dog and I honestly dont know what our world would consist of without him.  Now his name.  I for the record did not know that Winchester was the brand name of rifles, guns, weaponry etc....I never grew up around guns but, my husband did :)  Need I say more.  We had talked about names before went to pick him up (Emmit like the cute vampire from Twilight, Wyatt as in Wyatt Earp and I love Kevin Costner).....so needless to say Winchester was not one of them.  So me being under the impression that we would pick out a name from what we had talked about I made a deal with my husband.  I could pick him out if my husband named him.  PERFECT!  So I picked out the most adorable, fat furr ball,  with the bluest eyes and I fell in love.  So after I picked him out my husband threw this new name into the mix.  In my husbands defense we made very general ground rules for this deal so I never mentioned that new names were not allowed.  Keeping to my deal, trying to be a good wife, I agreed to the name.  The more I grew to love my new baby the more I grew to love his little name.  Three days later there was a commercial on tv for a "Winchester rifle" and "how it would be a great Christmas gift"!  As I turned to my husband who was holding our sweet baby, I realized what had happened, and as calmly as possible I said,"You must be kidding!"  But quickly realized I didn't care because they both looked so cute it was hard to be mad.  AND my husband's childhood dog was named Winchester so it was kind of an "in remembrance" sort of thing.  Wives cant really be mad about meaningful and momentous things to their husbands so his name stuck and I would never change it!  (I only feel a little bitter when we watch Twilight)

These pics are some of my favorite of baby Winchester when we had just gotten him.  He was 9 weeks old and he loved to be held like a baby.  He is now 1 1/2 years old, 94 pounds and still loves to be held like a baby.  (And he still sits like this by the way)

Me and the hubs with Winchester........I think we all look pretty darn good!
He is all grown up now, oh how the years fly!  At the moment, Winchester's favorite things are his frisbee and his biggest weakness is peanut butter.  I like to think that Me and Justin are at the top of his list as well.  He used to love socks which is a whole different story.....He's probably ingested close to 25 socks in the short duration of his life.  Ankle socks come out quite well but bigger socks, not so much.  It was his crack.  Of course as concerned parents and worried for the health of our child, we had to intervene.  My husband being the wonderful dog handler that he is decided we should set him up.  So out came the socks.  We (and by we I mean my husband) threw socks all over the house and as heartbreaking as it was for a mother to watch he was scolded anytime he picked up a sock.  Though we never thought this is how he would react.  Here is what resulted........(see link)
